Banjo Patrol is a prototype I made over the course of a few weeks in 2016 and tested at Playup Perth. It began as a Banjo-Kazooie fangame in the style of an endless run and gunner, with various obstacles to avoid and powerups to change your weapon type.


While I ended up shelving the prototype for other projects, development proved invaluable as I learned several surface manipulation tricks (for transition effects), procedural generation methods and optimisation tricks to keep such an action game fast paced at a smooth 60fps.


The demo file below can be played with either a mouse and keyboard (WASD with Space or W to jump mouse to shoot) or an Xbox 360 controller.
